The Illinois Council on Family Relations (ILCFR) is the Illinois affiliate of the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) which is the premier professional organization focused on family. 

Founded in 1938, NCFR is the oldest nonpartisan, nonprofit, multidisciplinary professional association focused solely on family research, practice, and education. NCFR’s mission is to ensure that researchers, educators, practitioners, and policymakers are positioned to promote the thriving of every family.

Members of ILCFR are generally also members of NCFR. The ILCFR membership consists of university faculty, students, educators, family practitioners, and clinicians.
